Ys is a long-running series by Nihon Falcom. The last major game was Ys VIII: Lacrimosa of Dana which was has released for PC, PS4, and Nintendo Switch. It is also possible to enjoy this one without expressing the previous entries in the series. This is because of the standalone nature of the stories that feature some common characters but the overarching narrative is usually different enough that playing a predecessor is not always needed unlike the Trails of Cold Steel series.
