Nintendo has announced a special Zelda 40th Anniversary Direct for September 8, followed by another Nintendo Direct and a Nintendo Treehouse: Live presentation on September 9. The Zelda presentation will celebrate the series’ 40th anniversary and run for approximately 30 minutes.
The Zelda 40th Anniversary Direct will begin on September 8 at 7 a.m. PT, which is 10 a.m. ET. Nintendo says the presentation will include a variety of information related to The Legend of Zelda, although specific announcements have not yet been detailed.
The following day, September 9, Nintendo will host Nintendo Direct 9.9.2026 at 7 a.m. PT, or 10 a.m. ET. This presentation will run for approximately 45 minutes and focus on Nintendo Switch 2 games scheduled to launch during the winter.
Nintendo Treehouse: Live will follow the September 9 Direct, offering gameplay footage of selected titles featured during the presentation. The Treehouse livestream is scheduled to run for approximately 110 minutes.
The Zelda 40th Anniversary Direct will take place on September 8, followed by Nintendo Direct 9.9.2026 and Nintendo Treehouse: Live on September 9.
Regarding the announcements, we have already seen leaks of the 40th-anniversary-themed hardware and accessories for the Nintendo Switch 2. In addition to this, there is also a remake of The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time planned for release in 2026, which will likely receive significant attention during this Direct presentation.
