IO Interactive has announced that 007 First Light has surpassed 1.5 million copies sold worldwide.
The milestone was shared through the game’s official social media account, where the developer thanked players for supporting the launch of its new James Bond adventure.
“1.5 million copies sold!” the studio wrote. “Thank you for showing up to the launch of 007 First Light, for your overwhelming enthusiasm and for sharing your experience with the game.”
The announcement marks an early commercial success for IO Interactive’s first original James Bond title. Released on May 27, 2026, the game presents a new interpretation of the iconic secret agent, focusing on Bond’s early years before he becomes the seasoned operative familiar to fans of the franchise.
Unlike previous Bond games that adapted existing films, 007 First Light tells an original story centered on a 26-year-old Bond as he undertakes a globe-spanning espionage mission in pursuit of his 00 status and license to kill.
The game combines stealth, third-person shooting, and close-quarters combat mechanics, drawing on IO Interactive’s experience developing the Hitman series while introducing a more cinematic action-adventure structure.
007 First Light is currently available on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC. A Nintendo Switch 2 version is planned for release later this year.
