A major update has been rolled out for Animal Crossing New Horizons, introducing new gameplay features including but not limited to an art gallery. A full rundown on what the update includes is as follows.
The museum has been expanded to accommodate the aforementioned art gallery on the first three floors. You now have the option to donate, and view sculptures, paintings, and many antiquities.
How To Unlock Animal Crossing New Horizons Art Gallery
The first order of business is to find Redd. Once you’ve got a hold of him, you’ll be required to purchase a painting from him and donate it to Blathers. Doing so will result in the art gallery opening the very next day. The gallery will need to be set up from scratch, so you’re going to have your hands full.
The update brings tons of paintings for you to acquire. As mentioned earlier, some of them are sold at Redd’s Treasure Trawler. The latest datamine has revealed that Redd will also be selling forgeries alongside original paintings, much like in past entries, so keep an eye out!
Forgeries can’t be donated to Blathers (for obvious reasons), so you’ll have to put your observation skills to the test and identify a minor distinction between the forgery and the original painting. Spotting the differences can certainly get tricky, so you’ll be required to do some investigation before making a potentially valuable purchase.
Buying from Redd won’t be the only way to acquire valuable paintings. Nook’s cranny may also put a painting up for sale from time to time. In addition, villagers will occasionally gift you some rare artwork. Lastly, you’ll also uncover some artwork naturally during exploration and fossil hunting.
