GTA V Has Sold 130 Million Units, Red Dead Redemption 2 Ships 31 Million

Take-Two Interactive has shared its financial results for the last quarter also giving an update on the sales figure of their major games including GTA V.

Take-Two Interactive is the owner of Rockstar Games which is the developed behind Red Dead Redemption and Grand Theft Auto series. According to the latest sales update shared by Take-Two, both of these games have done really well. GTA V continues to sell great and the total cumulative sales of the game have now passed 130 million units.

Red Dead Redemption 2 launched back in October 2018 for PS4 and Xbox One. It was also released for PC at a later date. The game has now sold 31 million units.

In addition to sharing the sales update for both of these games, Take-Two Interactive has revealed an updated sales figures for the rest of their published games.

  • Grand Theft Auto V – 130 million units
  • Red Dead Redemption 2 – 31 million units
  • NBA 2K20 – 12 million units
  • Borderlands 3 – 10 million units
  • The Outer Worlds – 2.5 million units

The sales of NBA 2K20 were increased 33 percent from its predecessor. The Outer Worlds is a brand new first-person RPG from Obsidian Entertainment that was published by the Private Division label of Take-Two Interactive. It has managed to sell 2.5 million copies. It is also launching later this year for the Nintendo Switch.

Borderlands 3 sales are more than 50% more than Borderlands 2 during a similar time frame. It has generated a strong Q4 for Take-Two Interactive in terms of an influx of new players and overall user interaction. Overall, they had a record quarter on the back of an increase in digital sales.
