Life is Strange True Colors is available now for last, current-generation consoles, and PC. Sadly, the game only supports 30 FPS.
In a tweet by the developers, it was confirmed that the game only supports 30 FPS. It doesn’t matter if you are playing it on PS4 or PS5, the performance won’t be improved.
“Regarding framerate: Life is Strange: True Colors was designed to be a cinematic, performance-driven narrative adventure. Capping at 30fps allowed us to target higher cinematic fidelity on every platform, ” reads the tweet.
Most of the games that are cross-generation appear to support 60 FPS on the PS5 or Xbox Series consoles. This doesn’t apply to Life is Strange: True Colors, which only supports 30. It is a cinematic-driven story game so the 30 FPS limit might not be a big deal, but it still matters for those who prefer to run at a higher frame rate.
In this case, your best bet is to go for the PC version of the game which supports a higher resolution.
The game is also coming to the Nintendo Switch although the launch of the Switch version was delayed. Square Enix is also working on a remastered version of the first two games that will be released for the PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series, and Nintendo Switch. This remastered collection will feature Life is Strange 1 and Life is Strange: Before The Storm.
