Capcom has a website up for Resident Evil 2 that shows the percentage of people who have played the game. There is a global map displayed showing the number of players in each region of the world. Just having a look at it right now, more than 1.1 million people have played Resident Evil 2 demo. While this seems impressive due to the demo launch just 2 days ago, the completion stat for the demo stands at just 29 percent, which is quite low.
It is important to note that this only counts the players who have logged into their RE.Net account. You can opt out of it, as I have done it, so there are potentially more users who have played this demo.
Resident Evil (Bio Hazard) used to be quite popular in Japan and has always done well there, but Resident Evil 7 didn’t do that great there. The interest In Resident Evil 2 seems to be quite a bit high judging from the global map as the user count for the demo is higher in Japan than any other region in the world including the United States.
Capcom will likely share more detailed stats for Resident Evil 2, so you can keep an eye on this page to find out more about them once the website is updated.
