Resident Evil 7 Update 1.08 Out Today, Here’s What Is Included

by Ali Haider

Capcom has updated Resident Evil 7 and its Gold Edition to a new version today on January 21. This update doesn’t appear to add any new features.

During the Resident Evil showcase, Capcom confirmed that they will release a bundle that will feature Resident Evil 7 and 8 in a single package. Since they were promoting the previous game, it was hoped that they might update it for PS5 and Xbox Series as well.

Sadly, the update that launched shortly after the recent showcase doesn’t appear to do much in terms of new content. We have downloaded the update and verified its content.

Resident Evil 7 Update 1.08 Patch Notes

  • Product information added

If you have the regular edition of Resident Evil VII, you will get an update to version 1.08 on PS4. Gold edition owners will receive an update to version 1.03.

The only thing that appears to have been added to this update is product information for the upcoming Resident Evil Village. Capcom hasn’t confirmed whether they plan to update the game for the next-generation consoles, so we don’t really have a lot to go on here. This is not a new thing, as it has happened in the past with older Resident Evil games whenever a new one comes along.

If you are looking for more information, we have detailed the release date for Resident Evil Village, covered the PS5 exclusive Maiden demo, and detailed the various bonus content that will be available for Resident Evil 8.
