Angry Birds 2 has launched a limited-time crossover with Super Monkey Ball Banana Rumble, bringing AiAi and the rest of the monkey crew to Piggy Island. The event is available now on iOS and Android and will run until September 28.
The Angry Birds 2 Super Monkey Ball collaboration adds a new Super Monkey Spell, themed character hats and exclusive rewards based on SEGA’s long-running franchise. The crossover brings the two series together through a storyline in which AiAi, MeeMee, Baby and GonGon arrive on Piggy Island through a dimensional portal.
The monkeys appear just as Red and the flock are dealing with another attack from King Pig. Their unexpected arrival inspires the birds to create Super Monkey Ball themed hats, allowing them to channel AiAi’s abilities while taking on the pigs.
Players can unlock several pieces of crossover content during the event.

The Super Monkey Spell is the main gameplay addition, allowing players to fire AiAi’s Monkey Ball from the slingshot. Once launched, it can trigger a chain reaction involving explosive bananas, giving players another way to clear pig structures.
The crossover follows an earlier collaboration between the two franchises and brings together characters from Super Monkey Ball with Angry Birds 2’s existing slingshot gameplay. Rovio says the event was designed around the accessible gameplay found in both series, while providing players with new content to collect and use.
The event is part of Angry Birds 2’s ongoing stream of limited-time content. The mobile game features strategic slingshot gameplay alongside daily events, clans, Arena competition, collectible hats and spells.
The Angry Birds 2 x Super Monkey Ball Banana Rumble collaboration is available now on iOS and Android. Players have until September 28 to complete the event and claim its limited-time rewards, while the Super Monkey Ball Hats will only be available until September 24.
