Pawprint Studio has confirmed that its upcoming creature-collecting open-world RPG Aniimo is scheduled to launch in Q3 2026, while also announcing a new global closed beta test set to begin later this summer.
The release window was revealed alongside a new gameplay trailer showcased during Future Games Show. Players interested in trying the game ahead of launch can register now for the upcoming beta, which will be available on PC, including Steam, as well as iOS and Android devices.
The latest trailer offered a deeper look at several new features and additions that participants will be able to experience during the upcoming test. Among the highlights is expanded exploration of Idyll, the game’s open world, where players known as Pathfinders can use the title’s signature Twining system to merge with creatures called Aniimo. This mechanic allows players to travel, battle, and interact with the world through the perspective and abilities of the creatures they bond with.
The beta will introduce several new Aniimo species, including Bubbeep, Popapus, Mophling, and Sausite. Players will also encounter additional creature forms such as Budsquire and Thornblade, expanding the roster available for collection and progression.
A number of updates have also been made to Astra, one of the game’s key locations. New stores will allow players to purchase accessories, while additional buildings, including a blind box shop and clothing store, have been added to further develop the area’s social and customization features.
Housing customization is receiving a significant expansion as well. The Homeland system, which is accessed through the player’s mobile RV-style base, will feature more personalization options and a wider selection of Aniimo-themed decorations.
The upcoming beta will also provide access to a completely new region known as the Island of Peace, a water-themed area that players will be able to explore for the first time.
Multiplayer content is another major focus of the test. One of the newly revealed modes, Diamond Egg Heist, pits up to six teams of three players against one another in a competitive objective-based challenge. Teams must secure a valuable diamond egg and safely escort it while defending against rival groups attempting to steal it.
Cooperative content is also being expanded with new boss encounters. Players can team up to battle creatures known as Bubbask and Coraliz, tackling challenges designed around group play.
In addition, Pawprint Studio confirmed that players will be able to exchange Aniimo with one another through a new trading system, adding another layer of social interaction to the experience.
Aniimo is a free-to-play open-world RPG centered on collecting magical creatures and using the Twining mechanic to merge with them. The game combines exploration, creature progression, cooperative gameplay, and competitive multiplayer as players uncover the mysteries of the world of Idyll.
Aniimo is scheduled to launch in Q3 2026 for Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 5, PC via Steam, Epic Games Store, and Xbox, as well as mobile devices. The global closed beta will begin this summer on PC, iOS, and Android. Players can sign up now and wishlist the game across supported platforms.
