While the game is not out until a little over a month later, the ESRB rating has been confirmed for it. As expected, it has been given an E for Everyone rating by ESRB. This is not the surprising part though. It is the mention of “in-game purchases” that seems to have led some fans to believe that the game might offer post-launch DLC.

Nintendo hasn’t officially confirmed any post-launch DLC for Animal Crossing New Horizons. They appear to be doing it for multiple games including Luigi’s Mansion 3 that launched last year. They are also expanding heavily with games that were already released by offering a new Fighter Pass for Super Smash Bros Ultimate.

All of this has led to the speculation that there might be similar post-launch DLC for the game. Even if the rating mentions in-game purchases, this often refers to DLC and in the case of Animal Crossing New Horizons, Nintendo could have plans to continue expanding the game after it launches on March 20.
