As you make progress through the story, you can unlock Strongholds in Anthem that can be explored with four-players. They offer some nice rewards but some of the best loot is tied to the difficulty level. Here’s how you can unlock every Anthem Stronghold and reap their rewards.
Strongholds need at least four different players and offer multiple difficulty settings. If you can’t form a party, there is the option to use the matchmaking facilities to join other random players before attempting to complete a Stronghold.

Anthem Stronghold Explained: What Are Difficulty Options?
You can experiment with six different levels of difficulty in Anthem for every Stronghold.
- Easy
- Normal
- Hard
- Grandmaster 1
- Grandmaster 2
- Grandmaster 3
Start with easy and slowly make your way to other difficulty levels. The higher the difficulty, the better the loot that you can gather during the mission.

How To Unlock Anthem Stronghold: All Anthem Stronghold List
Most of the Strongholds will unlock after you make progress through the story or fulfill certain requirements. New Strongholds can be possibly added with a future update as well.
- Tyrant Mine – Unlocked at Level 7
- The Heart of Rage – Complete the “Return to the Heart of Rage” critical mission
- The Temple of Scar – Complete the “Return to the Heart of Rage” critical mission
One great way to farming loot in these Stronghold missions is to find treasure chests. They will likely contain rare loot depending on the difficulty of the Stronghold mission.
Once you have access to all the Anthem Stronghold missions, you can try to farm them on a higher difficulty, just make sure to bring any consumable that can help you gain stat boosts to make it easier.
