Aspyr Allegedly Used A PC Mod To Add Xbox Exclusive Content To Star Wars Battlefront Classic Collection

Aspyr Media Inc allegedly used a fan-made PC mod to add previously Xbox exclusive content to the upcoming Star Wars Battlefront Classic Collection.

YouTuber iamashaymin Modding had originally created a PC mod to add Kit Fisto and Asajj Ventress, who were originally only available on Xbox, to the classic Star Wars Battlefront. They now claim that their mod is being used without their consent by Aspyr Media Inc to implement both Xbox exclusive characters in the upcoming Star Wars Battlefront Classic Collection.

In a video shared on their channel, the modder has shown evidence that does indeed suggest that their mod is being using in the Battlefront Classic Collection trailer. They pointed out issues with the animations on certain character models, such as Ventress’s leg animation and saber holding technique. In their message to Aspyr Media Inc, they recommended that the development team should instead use the latest version of the mod, as it has addressed the aforementioned issues. The modder had originally taken the initiative to mod the Xbox exclusive characters and associated maps to make them available to the PC community.

The upcoming Star Wars Battlefront Classic Collection is developed by Aspyr Media Inc. It combines the beloved Star Wars Battlefront titles from 2004 and 2005, originally created by LucasArts and Pandemic Studios, into a collection. It includes games inspired by both the original and prequel trilogies. It boasts enhanced features such as restored online play supporting up to 64 players, expansions to Hero Assault mode, and all previously released bonus content. This includes Star Wars Battlefront (Classic), bonus map: Jabba’s Palace, Star Wars Battlefront II, bonus maps: Bespin: Cloud City, Rhen Var: Harbor, Rhen Var: Citadel, and Yavin 4: Arena, and bonus heroes: Asajj Ventress & Kit Fisto.

The game was first announced on February 21, 2024, and is scheduled for release on March 14, 2024, across multiple platforms including Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, and PC via Steam.
