Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced Launches July 9

by Greg Martin

Ubisoft has announced that Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced will launch worldwide on July 9, 2026, bringing a modernized version of the 2013 pirate adventure to current platforms. The remake is set to release on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X and S, and Windows PC via Ubisoft Store, Steam, and Epic Games Store, with availability on Ubisoft Plus as well.

Developed by Ubisoft Singapore, the project is described as a full remake built using the latest iteration of the Anvil engine. The studio has overhauled the original with upgraded visuals and expanded gameplay systems. Among the changes are a combat system centered around parrying, refined stealth and parkour mechanics, more intricate naval gameplay, and additional narrative content designed to build on the original experience.

The game returns players to the Golden Age of Piracy, once again following Edward Kenway, a pirate captain entangled in the long-running struggle between the Assassins and Templars. His pursuit of wealth and notoriety brings him into contact with historical figures such as Blackbeard, Anne Bonny, and Calico Jack, while the broader pirate republic faces an uncertain future.

Ubisoft also confirmed that Woodkid, a Grammy-nominated artist who previously contributed to the series, is involved in the project. He is collaborating on a reimagined track that will be revealed later this year.

The standard edition of Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced is priced at $59.99 across all platforms. Players who pre-order the game will receive Blackbeard’s Crimson Pack, which includes a unique outfit for Edward Kenway, along with themed weapons such as swords and pistols.

In addition to the base version, Ubisoft will offer multiple editions at launch. The Standard Edition includes only the main game, while the Deluxe Edition adds the Master Assassin Character Pack and Master Assassin Naval Pack in a digital format. A Collector’s Edition has also been announced, bundling the Deluxe content with a selection of physical items, including an Edward figurine, a wearable metal brooch, a SteelBook case, and a cloth map, among other extras.
