Reddit user Lazy-Ad5664 (via IdleSloth84_ on Twitter/X) has reported that Microsoft is introducing a new way to celebrate its players by rolling out a Birthday Gift feature for eligible Xbox Rewards members. This initiative is designed to make the rewards experience feel more personal, offering exclusive perks and bonuses tied directly to a user’s birthday period.
Members are encouraged to visit the Xbox Rewards hub to discover what has been unlocked for them on their respective birthday, as the exact reward can vary depending on factors like region, Rewards tier, and overall account activity.
Microsoft has outlined how the system works in more detail through an official message on the Xbox Rewards FAQ. It states, “During your birthday week (Monday – Sunday), eligible Rewards members will receive a special birthday gift. You can earn 2x Rewards points on eligible games and add-ons purchased from the Store during this week. The points earned during this time can be claimed the week following your birthday. Check the Rewards hub to see what’s available for you.”
This limited-time 2x points boost is one of the most appealing aspects of the new feature. During the birthday week, members can maximize their purchases by earning double points on games and add-ons from the Xbox Store.
However, the new feature comes with a few important conditions. Rewards must be claimed within a specific timeframe i.e. the week immediately following the birthday week. If members miss this window, they risk losing access to their bonus. Additionally, birthday rewards cannot be combined with other promotional offers, and point values may differ depending on local market conditions and user level. Monthly earning limits also apply.
