Ubisoft has revealed new technical details for Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced on PS5 Pro, highlighting a range of visual and performance upgrades planned for the upcoming remake.
According to information shared via the PlayStation Blog, the PS5 Pro version will take advantage of PlayStation Spectral Super Resolution, with Ubisoft Singapore Technical Director Jussi Markkanen stating, “We were extremely impressed with the enhanced PSSR. It really redefines the graphics experience in console games. It allowed us to render our dynamic tropical world full of swaying palm trees, violent storms and rogue waves without visible upscaling artifacts, delivering sharp pixel quality and great image stability.”
Ubisoft also confirmed expanded ray tracing support across both PlayStation 5 and PS5 Pro, with additional benefits on the upgraded hardware. Ubisoft Montréal Technical Architect Nicolas Lopez said, “Assassin’s Creed: Black Flag Resynced pushes ray tracing further across all modes on PlayStation 5 and PlayStation 5 Pro. PlayStation 5 brings more consistent lighting, while PlayStation 5 Pro delivers a no-compromise experience with advanced ray tracing performance and enhanced PSSR.”
Beyond hardware-specific improvements, the remake is built on the latest version of Ubisoft’s Anvil engine, bringing upgrades to character detail, animations, and environmental density. The Caribbean setting has been reworked with more vibrant visuals across cities, jungles, and open seas, while new audio tracks and additional sea shanties expand the overall presentation.
Gameplay enhancements are also part of the package. Ubisoft has introduced improved parkour mechanics, a reworked combat system focused on fluidity and chained takedowns, and refined stealth options that allow players to recover from mistakes rather than triggering immediate mission failure. New story content, characters, and expanded naval systems have also been added, alongside dynamic weather that affects ship navigation.
Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced is scheduled to launch on July 9, 2026, with the PS5 Pro version positioned as the most advanced console experience for the title.
