Crimson Desert Update 1.04.01 Fixes Crashes and Gameplay Issues

Crimson Desert update 1.04.01 is a follow-up hotfix addressing stability issues and gameplay inconsistencies introduced in the previous patch. The update focuses on resolving crashes, correcting control inputs, and improving overall reliability across multiple systems.

Several gameplay bugs have also been fixed, including issues with mounts, pets, combat targeting, and stamina behavior. While relatively small, this update targets a number of frustrating edge cases that could interrupt normal play.

  • Updated controller input for renaming pets and horses from R3 or RS to L3 or LS
  • Fixed owned mounts not appearing in Quick Slot, preventing summoning
  • Updated Change Preset option display on PlayStation and Xbox to match PC
  • Fixed pets consuming wood or ore gathered with tools
  • Fixed issue preventing furniture placement in housing mode under certain conditions for keyboard and mouse users
  • Fixed crashes occurring during dyeing or character customization
  • Fixed stamina recovering when repeatedly sheathing and unsheathing weapons while sprinting
  • Fixed Blinding Flash being canceled in safe zones for Damiane
  • Fixed reduced flight speed for Kliff Focused Aerial Roll
  • Fixed issue where ranged weapons could only target bosses during boss battles for Oongka and Damiane
  • Fixed crash when observing already acquired skills with full inventory using Abyss Artifacts
    • Added workaround using Reset All function to recover lost Abyss Artifacts
  • Fixed hit effects appearing when attacking non attackable NPCs while wearing a Mask
  • Fixed crash during combat with a specific boss when using a customized character

Crimson Desert update 1.04.01 is available as of April 23, 2026, across PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X and S, PC, and macOS, with some platforms receiving the update later.
