A game description recently spotted on unofficial Indonesian Rating Board IGRS states that Assassin’s Creed: Black Flag Resynced will stay true to what made the original special while also breathing new life into it. The remake is said to introduce both “new characters and stories”, though no further details have been shared in this regard. Last month, Ubisoft shared a first look at Assassin’s Creed: Black Flag Resynced in a new blog post outlining the series’ roadmap heading into 2026, confirming prior rumors about the remake’s existence.
In January, a domain associated with the game was discovered by eagle-eyed fans. It was also rated by PEGI, a move that typically indicates a product is well into development and approaching a public release window. Earlier in September, 2025, a report from Jeux Vidéo Magazine stated that the Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag remake will remove the original’s modern-day storyline and instead focus entirely on Edward Kenway’s pirate era, with several additional hours of new content compared to the 2013 release. According to the source, it will shift gameplay closer to the RPG-style mechanics of recent entries, such as Assassin’s Creed Odyssey and Assassin’s Creed Valhalla.
