Ubisoft has announced a strong launch for Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced, revealing that the game has sold in 3.5 million copies since its release on 9 July 2026 and surpassed the company’s annual expectations within its first 14 days.

The update was shared as part of Ubisoft’s latest financial results, where the publisher described the remake as one of the highlights of the quarter. The company said the game currently holds an 84 review score on both OpenCritic and Metacritic, making it the highest-rated Assassin’s Creed release since the original Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag launched in 2013.

Ubisoft also reported record PC performance for the franchise. According to the publisher, Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced reached a peak of around 105,000 concurrent players on Steam, the highest ever recorded for an Assassin’s Creed title on the platform. The company added that this resulted in a historic proportion of PC sales for the series, led by the US and Chinese markets.

Commenting on the launch, Ubisoft co-founder and CEO Yves Guillemot said, “The strong launch of Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced in early July by Vantage Studios is an encouraging proof point. The game is the highest-rated Assassin’s Creed title since the original Black Flag, and we are very pleased with the praise it received from players.”

He added, “Two weeks in, the title has already exceeded the annual expectations we had. I would like to warmly thank the teams whose talent and dedication brought it to life.”

Guillemot also said, “This launch illustrates the enduring appeal of the Assassin’s Creed brand, as well as the early benefits of our ongoing transformation and commitment to delivering very high-quality experiences.”

Alongside the game’s performance, Ubisoft reported Q1 net bookings of €255.8 million, down 9% year-on-year but slightly ahead of guidance. The publisher reaffirmed its FY2026-27 outlook and said it expects a stronger release pipeline over the following two financial years, including future entries in the Assassin’s Creed, Far Cry and Ghost Recon franchises.
