Call of Duty Black Ops II Adds Dedicated Servers on PS4 and PS5

Call of Duty Black Ops II is receiving a new update on PS4 and PS5 that introduces dedicated multiplayer servers, improving match stability and security. All multiplayer matches have now been migrated to dedicated servers with the latest update.

The update also improves support for joining friends and addresses various issues involving Custom Emblems, the user interface, and the multiplayer heatmap globe.

Call of Duty Black Ops II was originally released on November 13, 2012, and its direct PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5 ports were released digitally on July 9, 2026. The game is available on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Windows, Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, and Wii U, and was developed by Treyarch, with modern porting handled by Iron Galaxy Studios, and published by Activision.
