Blizzard Entertainment may be on the verge of announcing a brand new entry in its military science fiction series, StarCraft.
Prior to BlizzCon 2026, the official StarCraft website started glitching, with the main page being covered in distortion effects, as if it is malfunctioning. This led to speculation that a new announcement may be happening soon. Since then, the StarCraft community has been digging for clues in the site back-end. Reddit user RaiausderDose has now managed to uncover hidden messages in the code.
The site’s developer console contains a simulated Terran military data stream, including a sensor feed that reports motion where no occupants were registered. The feed detected 14 occupants before the system lost power.
Another recovered transmission is addressed to the Roxara Lunar Mining Complex and concerns the arrival of Theta Squadron in 2575, around 60 to 70 years after the events of StarCraft 2. The message orders personnel to prepare for a freighter arriving ahead of the squadron, while warning them to handle a collection of crates with extreme care because they are “pivotal to our research.” The manifest lists thousands of items, although several descriptions remain redacted.
The code also contains a binary-encoded system message reporting “INVALID CREDENTIALS,” followed by a flagged user and an instruction to contact the Dominion Service Desk.
According to the Reddit user, the unauthorized terminal access is likely related to an investigation of “Special Order 176” and the Roxara operation as well as its research cargo. It is speculated that Roxara may be connected to StarCraft lore involving the xel’naga and the Khala. The community suggests that 12 cloaked xel’naga may have appeared at the mining complex, while another theory points to the occurrence an outbreak.
Recently, it was reported by Korean outlet The Chosun Daily that Nexon is close to securing rights from Blizzard Entertainment to develop a new entry in the StarCraft series. Read about it here.
