Call of Duty Black Ops PS5 releases have arrived, with Treyarch confirming that the original Call of Duty: Black Ops and Call of Duty: Black Ops II are now available on both PS4 and PS5. The ports were developed by Iron Galaxy and bring the two classic titles to modern PlayStation hardware for the first time.
In a post on X, Treyarch said, “They’re here. The original Black Ops and Black Ops II are now available on PS4 and PS5, ported by @IronGalaxy.”
According to ModernWarzone, both games are priced at $40 each, while PlayStation Plus subscribers can purchase either title for $20 for a limited time. The release includes separate PS4 and PS5 versions, although there are no updates to the core games.
Some features from the original releases are missing in the new ports. Wager Matches and Theatre Mode have been removed from the Call of Duty: Black Ops port for PS4 and PS5. The Emblem Editor is included and unlocks when players reach level 10 in Black Ops.
The releases are described as faithful ports rather than full remasters, preserving the original gameplay while bringing the games to current PlayStation systems. Players can access the campaign, multiplayer, and Zombies modes in both titles, alongside native support for modern hardware, updated trophy support, and smoother overall performance.
