Call of Duty Movie Set for June 2028 Release

by Greg Martin

A live-action Call of Duty film is officially scheduled to hit theaters on June 30, 2028, as Paramount and Activision continue work on bringing the long-running shooter franchise to the big screen.

The adaptation will be directed by Peter Berg, who is also co-writing the screenplay alongside Taylor Sheridan. Both are attached as producers as well, joined by David Glasser and Rob Kostich. Paramount is handling distribution, while development and production are being led in collaboration with Activision.

The project aims to translate the core appeal of the Call of Duty series into a cinematic format, while also expanding its reach beyond the existing player base. Although specific story details have not been disclosed, the film is positioned as a large-scale action feature designed to reflect the tone and intensity associated with the games.

Call of Duty remains one of the most commercially successful entertainment franchises in gaming. Since its debut, the series has attracted more than 1 billion players worldwide and generated over $35 billion in revenue, maintaining a strong presence in popular culture for more than 20 years.

With a confirmed release date now in place and a creative team attached, the Call of Duty film represents another major step in the ongoing wave of video game adaptations heading to theaters in the coming years.
