A trailer from EA and BioWare’s canceled Mass Effect 5 has apparently been revealed by an alleged employee.
An alleged EA employee took to Reddit to engage with the community on the recent announcement of BioWare’s closure. They mentioned that here was a trailer ready for Mass Effect 5 that they saw a few months ago, and that they were puzzled by the official statement regarding development on the project being “early.”
According to the alleged EA employee, the Mass Effect team comprised of about 50 developers baaed on what they had seen. They added that the BioWare Austin studio still includes a group of people that have been supporting various games since several years now, and that it will remain operational.
When a comment in a related Reddit thread expressed their desire to see the trailer mentioned by the alleged EA employee, a new burner account with the handle Random_Hyabusa_Ninja shared a video clip, saying, “Ask and you shall receive.”

BioWare recently announced its closure after more than 30 years in the video game industry, as “early development” on the next Mass Effect game comes to an end. The studio shared the announcement in a statement reflecting on its history and thanking players for supporting its games over the decades. “For more than 30 years, BioWare has been more than a studio. It has been a home for storytellers, developers, and the players who brought our worlds to life.”
The statement went on to name several of the studio’s best-known franchises, including Baldur’s Gate, Neverwinter Nights, Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic, Dragon Age, and Mass Effect. BioWare also addressed the end of its operations directly, saying, “Now, after more than three decades of shared adventures, BioWare is closing and early development on the next Mass Effect project is ending.”
