Over 60% Of CD Projekt Development Team Working On Next The Witcher Game
More than 60% of the development team at CD Projekt is currently working on the next Witcher role-playing game.
In its Q3 2023 Earnings report, CD Projekt has indicated that a large majority of its development team (over 60%) is working on the next Witcher game, while over 30% includes developers who continue to work on Cyberpunk 2077: Phantom Liberty Ultimate Edition or are in the process of transferring over to one of the other projects at the studio.
This suggests that development on the next Witcher game is currently in full swing, with a majority of the studio’s workforce being involved in its production. As for the other projects at CD Projekt, project Sirius, which is being developed by The Molasses Flood, and other projects have seen a small increase in their respective development teams. On the other hand, less people than before are working on GWENT-related projects.
In an earlier report, the management board of CD Projekt had revealed that the original concept of The Witcher co-op game, codenamed Project Sirius, had been evaluated on the basis of its scope and commercial potential, and work was being done by developer The Molasses Flood on formulating a new framework, suggesting that the project had been rebooted.
