Chaos Zero Nightmare has unveiled the prologue for its fifth Galactic Disaster season, titled “A Promise Upon the Snow”, ahead of its full launch on October 21. Players can experience the opening story, “Escape from Judgment”, from now until the new season begins.
The prologue follows the Captain and their companions after they receive an imperial summons to investigate a large-scale Chaos incident. Their mission brings them into contact with several allied factions, each with their own characteristics, while a mysterious figure claiming to be an Apostle of the Goddess further complicates the investigation.
The update also introduces Anika as a new 4-star Combatant. Players will also have another opportunity to obtain Sereniel, the Seasonal Combatant originally introduced in December, along with her Partner, Peko.
Several system improvements have been added alongside the new story content. The Growth Guide now includes additional missions and rewards intended to help players progress through the early stages of the game, while the new Aether Cell system provides another way to obtain currency used for character growth.
The Full-Scale Offensive battle mode has received a UI overhaul and now includes new achievements and rewards. Chaos Exploration has also been updated to make it easier for players to check whether their Save Data contains the effects they are looking for.
A series of events is also underway ahead of the game’s first anniversary. The countdown to the Nightmare Carnival has begun, with rewards available through a check-in event, while two Sereniel-themed events offer Crystals and other growth currencies for completing missions.
Chaos Zero Nightmare is available as a free-to-play game on PC, iPhone and Android. The full Galactic Disaster Season 5, “A Promise Upon the Snow”, begins on October 21, 2026.
