Clair Obscur Expedition 33 has reached a major commercial milestone, with the development team confirming that the game has sold over 8 million copies within its first year of release.
The announcement was shared through the game’s official social media account, where the team expressed its appreciation for the community. “We’re so thrilled, and honestly still quite overwhelmed, to announce that Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 has officially reached 8 MILLION copies sold!” the post read, adding, “Thank you so so much to every single person who has played, created art, shared, streamed, discussed, and supported this game!!”
Released on April 24, 2025, the role-playing game is developed by Sandfall Interactive and published by Kepler Interactive. It launched across PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X and S, and PC, and has since gained recognition for its distinct setting and combat system.
Set in a world inspired by France’s Belle Époque, the game follows a group of explorers attempting to stop a mysterious force known as the Paintress. Its gameplay combines traditional turn-based mechanics with real-time elements such as dodging and parrying, creating a more reactive combat experience.
The 8 million milestone reflects strong player engagement across platforms, marking a significant achievement for the studio’s debut title.
