Resident Evil Requiem has surpassed 7 million copies sold, marking a major milestone for Capcom’s long-running survival horror franchise. The figure was shared through social media by game director Koshi Nakanishi, who posted images of a celebratory cake to commemorate the achievement.

The milestone makes Resident Evil Requiem the fastest-selling entry in the series to date, continuing the franchise’s recent commercial momentum. While Capcom has not issued a formal press release alongside the update, the announcement from Nakanishi provides an early look at the game’s performance since launch.

Released on February 27, 2026, Resident Evil Requiem serves as the ninth mainline installment in the series. The game is available on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X and S, PC, and Nintendo Switch 2.

The story follows Leon S. Kennedy alongside newcomer Grace Ashcroft, an FBI analyst, as they investigate a string of mysterious deaths near the ruins of Raccoon City. The game features a dual protagonist structure and blends action-oriented gameplay with traditional survival horror elements, including resource management, environmental puzzles, and the option to switch between first-person and third-person perspectives.

Reaching 7 million copies in a short period reinforces the series’ continued appeal, with Resident Evil Requiem quickly establishing itself as one of the franchise’s most successful releases.
