Clayface Crosses $100 Million Worldwide With Strong Third Weekend at the Box Office

by Salal Awan

DC Studios’ R-rated horror film Clayface has crossed $100 million at the worldwide box office, reaching $109 million after a strong third weekend in theaters. The film, starring Tom Rhys Harries, earned another $6.7 million domestically, dropping just 38.8% from the previous weekend despite losing more than 500 theaters.

The Clayface box office performance has been helped by positive word of mouth, with the film holding up well following the Halloween period. Its latest domestic earnings bring the US total to $56.6 million after three weekends.

The film lost 532 theaters on Friday but still managed a relatively modest decline compared to several other recent horror releases.

Internationally, Clayface earned an additional $6.8 million over the weekend, representing a 45.2% decline. Its overseas total now stands at $52.4 million across 76 markets, bringing the worldwide total to $109 million.

The film has now surpassed $50 million in both domestic and international markets.

Clayface’s third-weekend performance compares favorably with several other films in the horror and comic book genres. Birds of Prey dropped 60.4% during its comparable weekend, while The Exorcist: Believer declined 48.1%. Kraven the Hunter recorded a 46.7% drop.

However, some horror releases held slightly better. Black Phone 2 declined 35.5%, although its performance benefited from a holiday period, while Smile dropped 32.2%.

The film was produced on a reported budget of $44 million, excluding marketing costs. Its current worldwide earnings are already more than twice that figure, although theatrical revenue alone does not determine profitability.

Current projections suggest Clayface could finish its domestic run with at least $70 million to $75 million. Worldwide estimates range from $130 million to $150 million, with another projection placing its final total above $140 million.

If those estimates hold, Clayface could surpass the worldwide box office performance of Supergirl, the previous DC Studios release.

Supergirl earned approximately $72.4 million domestically and $54.1 million internationally during its theatrical run earlier this year. Its worldwide total reached $126.5 million against a reported production budget of $170 million.

Directed by James Watkins, Clayface opened in international markets on October 21, 2026, before arriving in North American theaters on October 23.
