Control is an upcoming third-person shooter from Remedy Entertainment. ESRB has just rated the game giving it a Mature rating citing “Blood, Strong Language, Violence” as the reason for it.
Control is a supernatural third-person shooter developed by Remedy Entertainment which is set in New York. You play the role of the Director of a secretive agency whose office is invaded by an otherworldly threat. As things spiral out of control for the agency, the director has to find the root of this problem and figure out how to solve it.
The ESRB rating for Control also has a brief overview given for the game’s story and some of the mature content that you can expect from here.
This is an action-adventure game in which player help a woman with psychic abilities battle supernatural forces that have taken over the government. From a third-person perspective, players traverse building corridors and use a handgun to shoot and kill enemy creatures and possessed guards/agents. Players also use psychic abilities (e.g., telekinesis) to levitate and fling furniture at enemies. Large splashes of blood are frequently depicted as enemies are shot and killed; a handful of sequences depict large pools of blood underneath corpses and bodies hanging from ropes. The words “f**k” and “sh*t” are heard in the game.
Control offers a deep and unpredictable world. It is a single-player shooter so don’t expect to see any form of multiplayer in it. Remedy Entertainment is going back to its roots with the classic narrative focused third-person games with Control. You can customize loadouts, learn new supernatural abilities as you make your way through this dangerous world.
Control has some content exclusive to the PS4 including Rare Service Weapon Mod, The Tactical Response Gear and Crafting Resources Pack, Rare Player Mod, Astral Dive Suit, and two different themes: The Explorer Theme, The Black Rock Quarry Theme. It will be out on August 27, 2019, for PS4, Xbox One, and PC.
