Remedy Entertainment has apologised to Control Resonant players after a recent hotfix caused some PC users who had already downloaded the game to download it again. The developer said the update unintentionally triggered certain platform mechanisms, creating additional inconvenience for affected players.
In a statement shared by the official Control Resonant account, Remedy explained that the hotfix was released to improve the gameplay experience but unexpectedly caused the issue on PC. The developer acknowledged that the problem was an oversight and apologised to players who were affected.
“This was an oversight on our part. We don’t have an excuse, we would only like to sincerely apologise to everyone affected,” Remedy said. The studio added that it would learn from the incident and work to prevent similar issues in the future.
Control Resonant launched on September 24, 2026, for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S and PC. Developed and published by Remedy Entertainment, the game is a narrative sequel to 2019’s Control and follows Dylan Faden as he uses supernatural abilities and the Aberrant weapon to confront extradimensional threats in a distorted version of Manhattan.
