Control Resonant Update 1.4.0 introduces New Game ++, allowing players to continue into an infinite number of runs. The update also adds Build Power information to the Loadout screen, new HUD notifications for purchases and upgrades, and improved material tracking through the Map.
The update also delivers a broad range of fixes and polish across combat, performance, audio, visuals, level design, UI, localisation, and narrative presentation. Several quality-of-life additions and technical improvements have also been made, including Razer haptics support and optimisations targeting PC minimum and recommended specifications.
New Features
- New Game ++ allows an infinite number of runs of Control Resonant.
- New Game ++ rewards have been updated to make it somewhat easier to max out every Zone.
- Build Power has been added to the Loadout screen so players can view their Power level without opening the Stats & Effects menu.
- A HUD notification icon now indicates when new purchases or upgrades are available in The Gap.
- Pinned upgrade materials can now be checked against Vendor availability through the Vendor icon on the Map.
- A separate radio dialogue volume slider has been added for customising the audio balance between speakers or headphones and the DualSense controller speaker.
- A new Power Core Charge Duration option has been added to Assist Mode, with a 100% to 300% duration multiplier.
- A Mute copyrighted music option has been added to disable Apocalyptica’s Upperhand intro credits song.
- A tutorial has been added explaining that the Rush ability can remove status effects.
- Razer haptics support has been added, with gameplay events such as melee attacks and taking damage triggering effects on supported Razer peripherals.
- Main Menu Save Game slots have been increased from five to seven.
- A spoiler warning has been added to the Digital Deluxe Edition Art book menu.
Balance Changes
- Combat and overall intensity in the Unknown Zone have been reduced by 10% to 15%.
- The Firebreak employee working in The Park has been made considerably stronger.
- Sunder lifetime has been slightly increased.
- Mini boss and heavy enemy reactions to the Push ability have been adjusted.
- SHÜM Challenge scores have been adjusted to make them easier.
- DualSense adaptive trigger effects have been finetuned.
- The forklift enemy has been adjusted to make it easier to hit.
- The Power Drill upgrade now correctly provides 25% power from drilling airborne enemies.
- The Executive Order upgrade for the Extend Aberrant form has been fixed to work correctly.
Audio
- Radio dialogue now has a separate volume control.
- Dialogue issues have been fixed across all areas of the game.
- The audio mix, sound effects, and ambience have been improved across the game.
- An issue causing audio to desynchronise has been fixed.
- Dylan’s melee attacks now play the correct sound effects.
- Ranger combat barks have been fixed so they no longer play at inappropriate times.
- Multiple music state restoration issues have been fixed when loading saves or entering and exiting The Gap.
- Music now stops correctly after completing The Party Won’t Stop quest.
- Dr Darling’s projected videos have been fixed so they no longer go out of sync or lose dialogue.
- Deserter Resonant boss music now plays correctly when backtracking from the approach before entering the fight.
- An Xbox Series X issue causing audio to cut out throughout the game has been fixed.
Visuals and VFX
- Conversation animations and timings have received minor improvements.
- Ranger glitches caused by dying after being smashed high into the air have been fixed.
- An out-of-bounds issue near the Deserter boss has been fixed.
- Artifacts in the opening credits have been reduced.
- Additional cinematic polish has been applied across the game.
- Several areas have been adjusted to prevent players from going out of bounds or breaking Story Quest progression.
- Draw distances, streaming volumes, and LODs have been adjusted to reduce pop-in.
- The Hedron boss Phase 1 arena has been adjusted to improve the player experience.
- Signposting towards the Oldest House rooftop in the Unknown Zone has been improved.
- Player interactions involving sliding and parkouring have been improved across various objects.
- Dynamic objects that were incorrectly static, and static objects that were incorrectly dynamic, have been fixed.
- An issue causing framerate drops during the Artist Resonant special attack has been fixed.
- Performance has been improved along the Dancer Resonant approach path.
- A large placeholder object appearing in the SHÜM Challenge Parkour course has been removed.
- Lighting performance has been improved across all Zones.
Performance and Technical Fixes
- Several performance optimisations have been made, primarily targeting PC minimum and recommended specifications.
- Crash fixes have been implemented across all platforms.
- Over-saturated HDR highlights in the AgX tonemapper have been fixed.
- Aggressive artifacts and pixelation that were most visible with HDR have been fixed.
- An issue causing crashes when switching between RT modes has been fixed.
- DLSS Frame Generation has received improvements to motion blur shutter speed scaling.
- V-Sync can now be used together with DLSS Frame Generation.
- Steam Controller reconnection issues have been fixed, with the change also affecting other controllers using Steam Input.
- Language detection for various languages and locales has been improved on startup.
- The render resolution dropdown no longer displays a blank label after booting in exclusive Fullscreen.
- The Frame Rate Limiter no longer disables itself when other graphics options are changed.
- Tear-like artifacts appearing in specific PlayStation 5 videos have been fixed.
- Multiple ultrawide aspect ratio issues have been fixed.
Combat and Gameplay Fixes
- Air executions now refund one dodge and one jump when the player has none remaining.
- Into the Sinkhole miniboss enemies no longer become stuck or fall out of Gravity Anomalies.
- Drone enemies revived through the Crowd Conversion talent no longer disappear too quickly.
- Multiple issues affecting the Push ability and enemy reactions in Gravity Anomalies have been fixed.
- Leashing now correctly causes enemies returning to their area to regenerate Falter instead of becoming immune to it.
- Dylan now correctly performs Ground Slam after hitting his head on a low ceiling.
- The Shield ability is now correctly affected by the Wallet Artifact.
- The Shield ability no longer leaves corrupted shadows trailing Dylan when blocking an explosive attack.
- Mold Scrappers can now move correctly after using Leap in Gravity Anomalies during the Collective Resonant boss fight.
- The Command function now correctly costs one charge against heavy enemies with low health when the Thought Leader talent is active.
- An issue causing Artifact effects to disappear after repeatedly equipping and removing an Artifact has been fixed.
- The Status Spread talent no longer spreads Infected or Burn after the status effect has expired.
- NPCs with half-armor now display the correct status effect icon.
- Warning indicators from grenades thrown by friendly Rangers have been fixed.
- An issue allowing players to become stuck in The Gap training area has been fixed.
- Split Pivot and Split Orbit combo enders can no longer repeatedly retrigger the Crush Instant Charge upgrade.
- Swarm Satellites now correctly deal damage to each other after Command is used.
- The Magnet Artifact now correctly displays small Resource Crates on dungeon maps.
- Destroying land mines or hitting electric boxes no longer incorrectly grants the Ruthless status effect.
- The Co-Director Resonant fight has been adjusted to make Perfect Dodge triggers against the boss’s attacks more achievable.
- Collective Resonant tentacles now correctly disappear after the boss is killed with One-Hit Kills enabled in Assist Mode.
Level Design and Quest Fixes
- Map markers that remained too long, appeared in incorrect locations, or failed to clear correctly have been fixed.
- Dylan now audibly reacts when completing Tasks.
- The Field Panopticon encounter can no longer be skipped during the Co-Director Approach.
- A rare New Game Plus issue preventing the Into the Sinkhole miniboss from spawning has been fixed.
- Gravity Anomalies have received multiple improvements.
- The microphone in The Party Won’t Stop karaoke mission no longer remains floating after the song is completed.
- Carbon Copy Part 2 now correctly triggers the call from Zoe that starts the quest.
- Several issues causing enemy encounters to begin prematurely or enemies to fall through the world have been fixed.
- A rare issue involving the Repeating, Refracting Achievement or Trophy has been fixed.
- Multiple PlayStation 5 Activities that triggered at incorrect times or failed to end correctly have been fixed.
- The Customer Complaint collectible now has a pickup prompt in the Downtown Zone.
- The New Growth quest step Find the Test Subjects now correctly updates after the subjects are found and eliminated.
- The Recursions and Iterations quest no longer displays a non-functional interaction on Ayad after reloading.
- An issue causing Hannah’s voice to be heard throughout the Zone during Carbon Copy has been fixed.
- A New Directive now correctly starts or progresses if the player is caught by a polaroid camera during a call from Fra.
- The Underpass Fault path forward now lights correctly.
- The Complete Set quest now correctly displays the Subwoofer interaction prompt.
- The Panopticon Service Request no longer has its cell door open too early, preventing skipped quest steps.
Narrative and User Interface
- Voice-over and dialogue presentation has received overall polish.
- Subtitle timing issues and cases where subtitles occupied too much screen space have been fixed.
- Missing non-English voice-over has been added.
- Issues causing the game to default to English despite another selected language have been fixed.
- Speaker names now appear correctly in subtitles when using a non-English voice-over language.
- Calls to Dylan no longer overlap with other events at inappropriate moments.
- A New Game Plus issue involving Zoe’s dialogue about rescuing the Party Won’t Stop partygoers has been fixed.
- Multiple overlapping HUD elements involving notifications, conversations, subtitles, cutscenes, and scripted sequences have been fixed.
- An Options menu issue after backing out with a mouse while entering a code has been fixed.
- Artifact currencies are now sorted correctly.
- The Collectibles tab mouse slider now works correctly.
- Incorrect Vendor prices have been fixed.
- Dungeon maps now default to maximum zoom.
- The Enter Redeem Code field now clears correctly after entering a previous code on PlayStation 5.
- Display calibration now correctly uses a completely black background.
- The EULA and Privacy Policy screens no longer require scrolling.
- Credits have been updated.
Localization
- Voice-over issues across all supported languages have been fixed.
- Text typos across all languages have been corrected.
- Additional non-English voice-over has been added where missing.
Control Resonant was released on September 24, 2026, for PlayStation 5, Windows, and Xbox Series X/S, with a macOS release planned for later in the year. The game was developed and published by Remedy Entertainment.
