THQ Nordic has released Darksiders Warmastered Edition for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S, though the upgrade path differs depending on platform.
According to the publisher, players who already own the Xbox One version of Darksiders Warmastered Edition will receive the Xbox Series X/S upgrade free of charge. Meanwhile, owners of the PlayStation 4 version must pay $9.99 or €9.99 to upgrade to the PlayStation 5 release.
The company also confirmed updated pricing for the game across platforms. The Xbox Series X/S version launches at $29.99, while the older Xbox One release will also increase in price from $19.99 to $29.99. On PlayStation platforms, the PS4 version will remain available at $19.99, while the native PS5 release launches separately at $29.99.
THQ Nordic said the current-generation release includes native 4K rendering, 60 FPS gameplay, and Photo Mode support. The game follows War, the first Horseman of the Apocalypse, as he returns to a ruined Earth to uncover the truth behind the end of the world and clear his name.
Originally released during the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 era, Darksiders became known for blending action combat, dungeon exploration, environmental puzzles, and comic-inspired visuals. The Warmastered Edition remaster adds visual enhancements and improved performance for newer hardware.
