DELTARUNE Chapter 5 v0.0.247 Fixes Crashes, Softlocks, and Gameplay Bugs

DELTARUNE Chapter 5 Version 0.0.247 is now available for PC, Mac, and PlayStation, bringing a collection of gameplay fixes, crash improvements, and stability updates. The patch addresses several softlocks, combat issues, graphical glitches, and memory leaks that could lead to crashes on PlayStation 4.

The update also includes several text and presentation changes, including new shop dialogue in a rare scenario, additional credits, and updates to the Castle Town manual. Players can confirm their Chapter version number from the bottom-right corner of the file select screen.

Patch Notes

Gameplay Changes

  • Players will no longer receive the JusticeAxe from the Castle Town cliff if they never obtained the Shadow Crystal in Chapter 4 on that save file.
  • Fixed an issue where grazing the aqua miniboss’s bullets incorrectly caused its attacks to last longer.
  • Fixed the bread-smashing time attack incorrectly displaying the digit 0.
  • Fixed an armour effect that failed to increase invincibility frames against the Chapter boss.
  • Fixed multiple memory leaks that appeared to cause random crashes on PlayStation 4.
  • Fixed a softlock that allowed players to clip through the floor after defeating certain platforming encounters.
  • Fixed a softlock that could occur when using Rude Buster during the first phase of the platforming battle before the Chapter boss.
  • Fixed an issue where scissors stopped dealing damage after a specific event.
  • Fixed the SOUL remaining visible inside the birdcage if the Chapter’s opening scene was skipped in a specific way.
  • Fixed several situations where two text boxes could overlap or where players could move while the menu remained open.
  • Fixed train blueprints floating in the air.
  • Fixed various additional minor graphical issues.
  • Fixed various other minor gameplay issues.

Text Changes

  • Added new dialogue to the Cliffs shop in a very specific circumstance.
  • Added credits for:
    • Matt Cummings – Festival Concept Art.
    • Zu Ehtisham – Platforming VFX.
    • Marcy Nabors – Music Assistance.
  • Updated the Castle Town manual to mention Susie’s SCYTHEMARE.
  • Fixed various minor text issues.
