SEGA has announced that Demon Slayer -Kimetsu no Yaiba- The Hinokami Chronicles 2 – Nintendo Switch 2 Edition + “Infinity Castle” Character Pass will launch on October 29, 2026, bringing enhanced performance, improved visuals and bundled downloadable content to Nintendo’s latest console.
The Nintendo Switch 2 edition will feature a 60 FPS frame rate and upgraded graphics compared to the original Nintendo Switch release. It will also support cross-generation play between Nintendo Switch and Nintendo Switch 2 users in both local and online VS Mode, allowing players on either platform to battle each other.
The package includes the Infinity Castle Character Pass, expanding the game’s VS Mode roster to 54 playable characters. The pass adds seven fighters inspired by the Infinity Castle arc: Tanjiro Kamado (Infinity Castle), Zenitsu Agatsuma (Infinity Castle), Giyu Tomioka (Infinity Castle), Shinobu Kocho (Infinity Castle), Doma, Akaza (Infinity Castle) and Kaigaku.
A physical edition containing both the base game and the Infinity Castle Character Pass will be available at launch with a suggested retail price of $59.99. SEGA said additional details about the release will be shared in the coming months.
Players who already own Demon Slayer -Kimetsu no Yaiba- The Hinokami Chronicles 2 on Nintendo Switch, whether digitally or physically, will be able to upgrade to the Nintendo Switch 2 version at no extra cost through a free upgrade pass. However, the Infinity Castle Character Pass is not included with the upgrade and must be purchased separately through the Nintendo eShop.
SEGA also confirmed save data bonuses for returning players. Those with Nintendo Switch save data from the original Demon Slayer -Kimetsu no Yaiba- The Hinokami Chronicles will receive unlock keys for six Kimetsu Academy characters: Academy Tanjiro, Academy Nezuko, Academy Zenitsu, Academy Inosuke, Academy Giyu and Academy Shinobu.
Meanwhile, players with save data from Demon Slayer -Kimetsu no Yaiba- Sweep the Board! will unlock the playable trio of Hinatsuru, Makio and Suma, along with the Hinatsuru, Makio and Suma Kimono (Meal Prep) battle attire.
Demon Slayer -Kimetsu no Yaiba- The Hinokami Chronicles 2 – Nintendo Switch 2 Edition + “Infinity Castle” Character Pass launches on October 29, 2026. The game is already available on PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X and Xbox One, Steam, and Nintendo Switch.
