Granblue Fantasy Versus: Rising 2.60 Dated for Sept. 17

Granblue Fantasy Versus: Rising will receive its Version 2.60 update on September 17, with publisher Cygames also confirming that the fighting game will launch for Nintendo Switch 2 on the same day.

The free update introduces Id as the latest downloadable playable character. Originally appearing in Granblue Fantasy: Relink, the swordsman joins the roster after his role as a former enemy in the action RPG. Players will be able to use his draconic abilities when he arrives as part of the new update.

Version 2.60 will also add a new stage called Ainsteddo Archipelago, introduce a new gameplay mechanic, and include balance changes for multiple characters. Cygames said additional details about the update will be shared closer to release.

Alongside the update, Granblue Fantasy Versus: Rising will make its debut on Nintendo Switch 2. The new version will launch with all 40 playable characters available from the outset, including Id and every fighter previously released as downloadable content.

The Nintendo Switch 2 edition will also support local communication multiplayer, allowing players to battle nearby opponents without needing an online connection. Other features available in existing versions, including Story Mode and Figure Studio, will also be included.

Cygames also announced a save data link bonus tied to Granblue Fantasy: Relink – Endless Ragnarok, which launches on July 9. From September 17, players who have save data from the action RPG will be able to unlock exclusive rewards in Granblue Fantasy Versus: Rising.

The crossover bonuses include an alternate weapon skin for Id and a Lyria (Shaman of Salvation) lobby avatar. The save data linking feature will become available when Version 2.60 and the Nintendo Switch 2 version launch on September 17.
