A possible Nintendo Switch 2 version of Devil May Cry 5 may have leaked online ahead of an official announcement from Capcom.

A post shared on the Devil May Cry subreddit claims that a Swiss retailer has listed Devil May Cry 5: Devil Hunter Edition for Nintendo Switch 2 with a reported release date of August 28. The listing has not been officially confirmed by Capcom, but it follows several recent rumors, rating board appearances, and retailer leaks tied to the game.

The rumored Devil Hunter Edition is expected to be a tailored version of Devil May Cry 5 designed specifically for Nintendo Switch 2. While details remain limited, speculation surrounding the release has intensified following reports of European retail listings and age ratings surfacing online in recent weeks.

Fans are also curious whether the Switch 2 version could include technical improvements or gameplay features not previously available on Nintendo hardware. Earlier Devil May Cry releases on the original Switch introduced additions such as on-the-fly style switching for Dante, leading to expectations that Capcom could further enhance the experience using the more powerful Switch 2 hardware.

One feature frequently mentioned by fans is Legendary Dark Knight mode, the large-scale enemy mode previously absent from weaker hardware versions due to performance limitations.

The timing of the rumored release would also align with renewed momentum surrounding the franchise following Netflix’s recent Devil May Cry animated series adaptation and the launch of its second season.

Originally released in 2019, Devil May Cry 5 was developed using Capcom’s RE Engine and starred Dante, Nero, and V in a fast-paced action campaign focused on stylish combat and combo-heavy gameplay. The title became one of Capcom’s most successful action games, helping push the overall Devil May Cry franchise beyond 10 million units sold worldwide.

Capcom has not officially announced Devil May Cry 5: Devil Hunter Edition for Nintendo Switch 2 at the time of writing.
