Dragon Ball Sparking Zero Neo DLC Launches July 30

by Greg Martin

Bandai Namco has revealed new details about Dragon Ball: Sparking Zero – Super Limit-Breaking Neo, the game’s next downloadable expansion, which launches on July 30, 2026. The DLC introduces a new solo mode, around 30 additional playable characters, four new stages and several free gameplay updates.

Following the success of Dragon Ball: Sparking Zero, which launched in 2024 with more than 180 fighters and now features over 200 playable characters, the new expansion aims to further expand the game’s roster and single-player content.

The headline addition is Limit Breaker Journey, a new solo mode that lets players strengthen a chosen character through a series of battles and events. Players travel across an interactive map, selecting different destinations to trigger encounters, earn experience and collect Battle Arts, special abilities that provide temporary combat bonuses such as enhanced ki attacks or increased power while in Sparking mode.

As players progress, they can spend earned points across six different character attributes, allowing each fighter to be customised to suit different playstyles. The mode also includes optional challenges, Dragon Ball-related events and tougher opponents that become available after meeting specific conditions. Characters trained in Limit Breaker Journey can then be used in offline battles and player matches.

The DLC also adds around 30 new playable characters. While Bandai Namco has not revealed the full roster, it confirmed that Mercenary Tao and Grandpa Gohan are among the additions. The new fighters will also feature unique pre-battle interactions with existing characters, expanding one of the game’s signature features.

Battlefields are also getting an overhaul with four new arenas joining the game: Kami’s Palace, Kame House, Bitter Tundra, and Stratosphere, which includes both Earth and Planet Vegeta variants. Like existing stages, they support extensive environmental destruction, with Kami’s Palace capable of being demolished during battles.

Alongside the paid expansion, all players will receive free updates introducing new features, including Sparking Boost and Chain Blast.
