EA Sports FC 27 has brought Ted Lasso and AFC Richmond back to the series through a renewed partnership between Electronic Arts and Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment. The latest collaboration introduces AFC Richmond Women, also known as the Lady Greyhounds, as a playable team for the first time, alongside new content across Career Mode, Football Ultimate Team, and other modes.
AFC Richmond Women are available through the Women’s Rest of World category and can be selected in Kick Off, Career Mode, and Online Seasons. The club’s home ground, Nelson Road, also returns, allowing players to compete and manage the team at the fictional stadium.
Manager Career Mode lets players take charge of AFC Richmond Women as Ted Lasso. The integration includes themed challenges, social media stories, cutscenes, and touchline interactions, bringing the character into the management experience.
Football Ultimate Team also receives themed content through Objectives that reward players with special kits, stadium cosmetics, manager items, and other items. Completing these objectives contributes to Season Progress, allowing players to unlock additional rewards.
EA Sports FC brand vice president Jeff Sharma said the collaboration reflects the game’s focus on bringing players together through football. He highlighted the opportunity to manage the women’s team as Ted Lasso, play matches with the Lady Greyhounds, and represent Richmond through custom Football Ultimate Team squads.
Abbie Hern, who plays AFC Richmond character Keeley Jones in the television series, also welcomed the expansion. She said seeing herself represented as part of the Lady Greyhounds squad was particularly special and described the addition as another way for fans to connect with the fictional club.
EA Sports FC 27 is available now on PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, PC, Nintendo Switch, and Nintendo Switch 2.
