Metro 2039 pre-orders are now open ahead of the game’s launch on February 4, 2027, with developer 4A Games and publisher Deep Silver revealing three editions, an exclusive pre-order bonus, and plans for post-launch story expansion DLC. The game is coming to PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC through Steam, the Epic Games Store, and Xbox on PC.
All pre-orders include the Metro 2039 Specialist Pack, which provides three blueprints that unlock backpack upgrades earlier in the game. Blueprints are a new feature that encourages exploration and allows players to craft upgrades and weapon attachments. However, players can equip only one of the three upgrades at a time.
The Specialist Pack includes the Equipment Specialist Pouch, which helps players craft advanced weapons and gear more quickly; the Chemtech Specialist Pouch, which provides additional gas mask filters and more reliable equipment for exploring radioactive areas; and the Munitions Specialist Pouch, designed to help players find and use rarer, more powerful ammunition.
Metro 2039 will be available in Standard, Deluxe, and Collector’s Editions. The Standard and Deluxe Editions will be sold in both physical and digital formats, while the Collector’s Edition is exclusive to physical retail. Both Deluxe versions and the Collector’s Edition include the Story Expansion DLC, which will arrive after launch. Further details about the expansion have not yet been announced.
The Collector’s Edition includes the full Deluxe Edition of the game alongside a wearable replica of the Stranger’s battle-scarred Spartan helmet, an exclusive SteelBook, a hardback art book, digital artwork, and the digital soundtrack. The physical Deluxe Edition includes the game disc, SteelBook, hardback art book, Story Expansion DLC, digital art book, and soundtrack.
The digital Deluxe Edition contains the full game, Story Expansion DLC, digital art book, and digital soundtrack. Meanwhile, the Standard Edition provides the full game through either a digital code or a physical disc, depending on the version purchased.
4A Games has also released a pre-order trailer showcasing the upcoming game and a separate teaser for the Collector’s Edition.
