Square Enix has acknowledged a bug in Final Fantasy Resonance that can prevent players from collecting victory rewards in the Colosseum. The company confirmed the issue through the official Final Fantasy account on X, explaining that certain actions can cause an unfinished battle to be incorrectly marked as completed.
According to Square Enix, the Final Fantasy Resonance Colosseum bug occurs when players select a battle they haven’t cleared and then cancel the challenge by going back or choosing “No” at the confirmation screen. If they subsequently win a battle outside the Colosseum, the previously selected challenge may be marked as cleared despite never being completed.
This prevents players from claiming the victory reward associated with that Colosseum battle, potentially causing them to miss out on rewards they would otherwise earn through normal progression.
Square Enix has provided a temporary workaround for players who have already cancelled a Colosseum challenge but haven’t yet triggered the bug. Before fighting an enemy outside the Colosseum, players should enter any Colosseum battle and select “Flee”. This prevents the incorrect completion status from being applied, allowing them to continue playing normally.
The developer is currently investigating the problem and plans to address it in an upcoming update. Players who have already encountered the bug and can no longer claim their rewards will receive compensation through the same update. Square Enix also apologised for the inconvenience.
Final Fantasy Resonance launched in October 2026 for PC and major consoles. Developed by Square Enix in collaboration with Lancarse, the RPG adapts the first major story arc of Final Fantasy Brave Exvius, following Rain, Lasswell and Fina as they travel across Lapis to protect the world’s remaining elemental crystals.
The game uses an HD-2D visual style and returns to traditional turn-based combat rather than the real-time action systems found in some recent mainline entries. Its battle system includes a stun mechanic and the ability to summon Visions based on familiar Final Fantasy characters.
