The first actor playing a role in Remedy Entertainment’s upcoming neo-noir third-person shooter, Max Payne 1 & 2 Remake, has been revealed.
According to details shared on his Filmmakers portfolio (via Twitter/X user MaxPayneRemake) in mid-2026, Swedish actor Alec Toselli will play an unknown role in the upcoming Max Payne 1 & 2 Remake. His role is listed as “TBA – Motion Capture (SUP),” which means that he is involved in the game’s motion-capture production. The “SUP” designation is generally assigned to supportive roles, suggesting that Toselli won’t be playing series protagonist Max Payne.
Toselli has previously worked primarily in short films and television, making Max Payne 1 & 2 Remake his first known video game credit. According to his portfolio, he is also working on an unannounced game being developed by Creative Assembly.
Goodbye Kansas Studios is also mentioned in connection with the Max Payne 1 & 2 Remake on Toselli’s profile. The Swedish production company specializes in visual effects, CGI, and performance capture, and has previously collaborated with Remedy Entertainment on Control Resonant for its cinematic announcement trailer.
Following Control Resonant’s release late last month, Remedy Entertainment is believed to have moved into full-scale production on Max Payne 1 & 2 Remake. The game is being developed in partnership with Rockstar Games. In its analyst report published in December, 2024, the developer revealed that it was targeting the year 2027 for the release of Control Resonant and 2026 for Max Payne 1 & 2 Remake. However, the former ended up releasing earlier this month, while the latter is expected to launch sometime in 2027. The report also mentioned that Alan Wake 3 and Control 3 will arrive in 2029 and 2030, respectively. Given how Remedy Entertainment still has Max Payne 1&2 Remake set for release before the arrival of Alan Wake 3, these estimates may change over time.
Max Payne 1&2 Remake is set for release across PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and Windows PC. A release date has yet to be announced.
