Forza Horizon 5 has crossed a major milestone on PS5, with co-developer Virtuos confirming that the racing title has surpassed 5 million copies sold on the platform.
The figure was shared on Virtuos’ official website, where the studio noted that the game became one of the best selling titles on PS5 in 2025. The same post also highlighted its strong critical reception, stating that it achieved a 92 score on Metacritic.
Originally released as an Xbox exclusive, Forza Horizon 5 launched on PlayStation 5 on April 29, 2025, as part of Microsoft’s broader strategy to bring its first-party titles to additional platforms. Its arrival marked a notable shift, with the open world racer quickly finding an audience on Sony’s console.
Set in a stylized recreation of Mexico, the game features a wide range of environments, from jungles to cities and volcanic regions. The PS5 version includes hardware specific features such as DualSense haptic feedback and adaptive triggers, along with enhancements for PS5 Pro that improve overall visual fidelity.
