Free Exclusive Game Offer For New PS5 Owners Is Now Limited By Invitation
The limited time free exclusive game offer for new PS5 owners is limited only to those who receive an invitation from Sony.
Sony has updated its upgrade program offer with a brand new caveat. It had previously stated that the free PS5 exclusive game offer would be valid for all eligible PSN account holders in the US who are at least 18 years of age and purchase and activate a new PS5 console by October 20, 2023 @ 23:59pm (PDT). However, there is now an additional limitation.
The updated upgrade program page now states that the offer is “BY INVITATION ONLY”, suggesting that only some of those who have yet to purchase a PS5 will receive an invitation via the email account associated with their PSN account. This sudden change in policy means that not everyone upgrading to a PS5 by October 20, 2023, will be eligible to a free PS5 exclusive game of their choosing from the list provided by Sony.

Those who receive an email from Sony can expect to acquire one of the following exclusives, should they opt to purchase a new PS5 by October 20, 2023 23:59pm (PDT):

The offer is limited to one game per user on the newly purchased PS5 console. It will not work on substitute or replacement PS5 consoles. Additionally, it is stated that the offer is non-transferable and cannot be combined with other select offers.
