The Gamescom Awards 2026 winners have been announced, with CD PROJEKT RED and SEGA leading the event with 3 trophies each. Capcom and Ubisoft also secured multiple awards, while Games Done Quick received this year’s special HEART OF GAMING Award.
The awards were presented on Friday, August 28, across 19 categories at the gamescom studio powered by IGN. The awards recognise games, trailers, booths, merchandise and other highlights from this year’s event.
The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt was one of the biggest winners, with CD PROJEKT RED taking home 3 awards. The trailer for The Witcher 3 Remastered and the Songs of the Past DLC was selected by consumers as the Best Trailer / Announcement at gamescom, while the DLC’s pin and medallion won Best Merch.
The Witcher 3’s presence at gamescom was also recognised by the jury, which awarded its booth the Best Booth prize.
SEGA matched CD PROJEKT RED’s total with 3 awards. Alien: Isolation 2 won Best Audio, while Total War: WARHAMMER 40,000 was named Best PC Game. SEGA also received the Best Lineup award for its range of games at the show.
Capcom picked up 2 trophies for Onimusha: Way of the Sword. The upcoming action game won both Best Gameplay and Best Sony PlayStation Game.
Ubisoft also collected 2 awards. Rayman Legends Retold won Best Nintendo Switch 2 Game, while the Ubisoft Business Lounge received the Jury Award for Best Business Booth.
Elsewhere, Metro 2039 won Best Visuals, while Wanderburg was recognised as the Most Entertaining game. Tides of Annihilation received the Most Epic award, and Finding Polka was named Most Wholesome.
SOKO 1977: Anti-Terror Task Force won the Games for Impact category. Forza Horizon 6 took home Best Microsoft Xbox Game, while Where Winds Meet was named Best Mobile Game.
The consumer award for Best Booth went to Arknights: Endfield, developed by GRYPHLINE. The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt’s Songs of the Past display therefore collected 2 consumer awards, with its merchandise and trailer both receiving recognition.
This year’s HEART OF GAMING Award went to Games Done Quick. The special jury award recognises the charity speedrunning event, which has raised more than $50 million for charitable causes.
Games Done Quick is also making its European debut at gamescom this year through gamescom GDQ, which runs from August 28 to August 30. Donations and sponsorship proceeds from the event will support Gaming for Democracy, an initiative focused on democratic values and social engagement through gaming culture.
The Gamescom Awards recognise standout playable games, trailers and presentations showcased at the annual gaming event, with awards spanning the Arts, Platform and Global categories.
