New concept art and the main theme for Sony Interactive Entertainment and Santa Monica Studio’s upcoming action-adventure game, God of War Laufey, were recently revealed at composer Bear McCreary’s concert.
During composer Bear McCreary’s recent concert in Vancouver, Canada, the audience was given an exclusive first look at new concept art for God of War Laufey, as the orchestra played the game’s main theme.

In July, Sony Interactive Entertainment confirmed that God of War Laufey will be released on February 16, 2027, exclusively for PlayStation 5. The announcement was made during San Diego Comic-Con. Furthermore, Santa Monica Studio’s Cory Barlog revealed that the next Kratos-led God of War game will take place after the events of God of War Laufey and connect directly to its story.
God of War Laufey follows Laufey the Just, also known as Faye, the Jötunn warrior of Jötunheim, wife of Kratos and mother of Atreus. The new adventure begins after Faye’s death, as she unexpectedly awakens in a mysterious realm known as the Everywhen. According to Santa Monica Studio, the warrior soon discovers that the plans she had set in motion to protect Kratos and Atreus are in danger, forcing her into a journey through an afterlife inhabited by gods and creatures from multiple mythologies.
The Everywhen serves as the central setting for the game and is described as a place where all magic originates and eventually returns. The realm brings together gods and beings from different mythological traditions, creating new threats and conflicts for Faye to overcome. Two of the gods showcased during the reveal are Sekhmet and Begtse, both of whom appear hostile toward the newly arrived protagonist.
