God of War Ragnarok Will Take Over 50 Hours For 100% Completion

Santa Monica Studio’s upcoming God of War Ragnarok will take well over 50 hours for 100% completion, which is roughly how long its 2018 predecessor took.

During a spoiler-free discussion between IGN’s Podcast Beyond crew regarding the upcoming God of War Ragnarok, it was revealed that a 100% completion run in the first playthrough can take well over 50 hours of playtime.

One of the IGN editors is around 70 hours into God of War Ragnarok and is doing a 100% completion run. This is well above the average 100% completion time for the its 2018 predecessor, as per playtime stats. It’s likely that there is more side content in the sequel, or that the world map is larger, with more areas to explore.

The crew also discussed that the game isn’t a massive technical leap over the 2018 original, though there are a lot of gameplay elements that have evolved. Players aren’t getting the same skill trees as in the original, and there are new things to do in combat, based on their impressions.

God of war ragnarok 100% completion

Previously, Naughty Dog director Kurt Margenau shared his thoughts on concerns regarding God of War Ragnarok having several masked loading areas due to a PS4 hardware limitation. According to Kurt, developers often use ‘squeeze through tight spaces’ sections to valve the player in to the next area, and to prevent them from going backwards. Similarly, characters giving each other boosts to higher ground are for preventing the player from leaving the combat space before any immediate threat has been dealt with. Your AI comrade can’t boost if they’re busy shooting and trying to say alive, he said.

Kratos’ is officially set to embark on his latest adventure alongside his son Atreus on November 9, 2022, for the PS4 and PS5. Previously, new information regarding the resolution and frame rate in God of War Ragnarok on PS4 and PS5 were revealed. The pre-load as well as the review embargo date for the game have also been revealed.
