Gotham Knights Dev Has Already Started Working On a New DC Game
WB Games Montreal, the Gotham Knights developer, has already begun working on a brand new game set in the DC universe.
According to the LinkedIn profile of senior producer at WB Games Montreal Inc., Bryan Theberge, the studio behind Gotham Knights has officially started production on its next game, which is also set in the DC universe.
The unannounced project went in production earlier this month in December, 2022. Theberge has once again taken up the role of senior producer for the new DC game. While working on Gotham Knights, he was leading production groups from high-level mandates to the daily low-level objectives, such as dealing with roadblock issues, staff issues, production problem solving, recruitment, and pipelines.
Gotham Knights is an action role-playing game developed by WB Games Montreal and published by Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment. The game is scheduled to be released for Microsoft Windows, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X/S on October 21, 2022. The game focuses on the characters Nightwing, Batgirl, Robin, and Red Hood, as they work to restore justice to Gotham City during a period of decline immediately following Batman’s death. It is inspired by the Batman: Gotham Knights comic series, which is based on the DC Comics character Batman and his supporting cast. The heroes encounter the Court of Owls, a secret society that is as old as Gotham itself, and their army of brainwashed assassins known as Talons while looking into Batman’s disappearance.
Each character has a distinct playstyle and set of skills. For example, Robin has the ability to teleport using the Justice League satellite. The game has a two-player cooperative multiplayer mode that allows the second player to join and leave at any time without interfering with the other one, in addition to a solo mode. Players can level up their characters, but enemies will also level up on their own. They can also travel around the city using vehicles like the Batcycle.
