Halo: Campaign Evolved July 29 Update Improves Stability, AI, and Performance

Halo Studios has released a new update for Halo: Campaign Evolved, bringing improved stability, enemy AI adjustments, and performance enhancements across PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC. The patch also introduces better compatibility with supported graphics drivers and resolves several mission-specific issues.

Players should note that installing this update will reset any mid-mission save progress. However, all previously unlocked Missions and Rally Points will remain available after the update is installed.

Patch Notes

Stability

  • Improved stability when watching or skipping the introduction cinematic in The Maw while FSR is enabled on AMD graphics cards using driver versions 26.6.2 or 26.6.4.
  • Added GPU driver warnings on all PC versions when the game is launched with AMD or NVIDIA driver versions known to have issues.
  • Improved overall stability for the Pillar of Autumn mission.

Gameplay and AI

  • Jackals in the hangar hallway of The Truth and Reconciliation now actively patrol instead of remaining idle.
  • Spec Ops Elites near Rally Point Delta in Assault on the Control Room now engage players as intended.
  • Fixed an issue where enemies could walk into the exterior area of the Control Room during Assault on the Control Room.
  • The Hunter pair now consistently engages players after approaching the cartographer’s entrance in The Silent Cartographer.
  • Fixed an issue where a charged Plasma Pistol shot could kill players with full health and shields on any difficulty.

Performance

  • Improved performance to reduce hitching for players with large friends lists on Windows PC, Steam, and PlayStation.

User Experience

  • Xbox Gamertags now display throughout the account-linking process for PlayStation and Steam players.
