Knights Peak and Windup Games have announced that Hela: of Mice & Magic will launch on December 1, 2026, bringing the open-world adventure to Nintendo Switch 2, Xbox Series X and S, PlayStation 5, and PC. The game will also receive a limited physical release through a special Harmony Edition.
Hela: of Mice & Magic will be available digitally on all announced platforms, while physical copies will be released for Nintendo Switch 2, Xbox Series X, and PlayStation 5 exclusively through the Harmony Edition. Xbox Series S and PC will receive digital versions only.
The announcement is accompanied by a new CGI story trailer that introduces more of the game’s folklore-inspired setting and establishes its more emotional tone. The adventure takes place across a large world filled with forests, meadows, wetlands, and underground burrows.
Players control a small mouse who helps a kind but cautious witch look after the land she has protected for generations. The mouse can explore the world alone or alongside another player, with the witch providing a magical backpack that expands the character’s abilities.
The backpack allows players to travel farther, reach previously inaccessible areas, and interact with the environment in different ways. The game is designed around exploration and a more relaxed adventure experience rather than focusing solely on traditional action.
The physical Harmony Edition is aimed at players who want additional collectibles alongside the game.
